Mediaväylä (Media Pathway)
The aim is also to strengthen the growth and competitiveness of the media and AV sector, foster collaboration between vocational and higher education, increase transition to further studies, and enhance diversity and equality within the sector.
From the perspective of the sector's future, it is critical that there is not enough higher-level expertise available. It is important to create means for faster production of highly educated individuals for the media and AV sector, who can progress to become top professionals. As the sector's capacity is limited, the most potential target group, which would benefit the sector and its diversity the most, consists of vocational education students and immigrants, who should be encouraged to pursue further studies.
The target group includes media and audiovisual students of different ages, as well as unemployed and employed people whose skills need to be developed. The focus is on migrants and young people under 30 who need support in accessing further education and employment.
The main outcomes of the project are
- A guiding and coaching education model preparing for higher education, facilitating the transition from secondary to higher education.
- A model for accelerating higher education based on existing expertise.
- An educational guidance model taking into account the entire educational path.
